Why "Wear Your Faith"?

I am blessed with stories from customers when they have been able to share the gospel and "wear your faith". Below are some to share with you and hopefully inspire and encourage you. Blessings.

Mary from Pennsylvania writes -- "I cannot really say that I have been able to speak of the Gospels due to the shirts.  However, two of the shirts were juniors and a bit smaller than normal, so I gave them to a friend’s daughter who loves to talk and share about God and she loved the shirts.  I also find that when I wear my shirts that I feel different…I feel like a better person because I have accepted the Lord as my savior and am proud of it, and not afraid to show it by wearing my faith. I also think that when I wear one of the shirts, I stop and think a bit more before I do or say something."

Robin from Canada -- "
My favorite encounter happened while I was wandering through an Ikea store.  I was visiting with my family in Vancouver and we decided to look in Ikea for some ideas for our kitchen. I was strolling through Ikea, looking through the various kitchen displays, and as I was walking I turned to see an item off to my right.  All of a sudden this gentleman tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I could please slow down or perhaps stop so he could finish reading the back of my T-shirt!  I was wearing my Tee that gave the definition of Christianity.  I prayed silently that God would water the seed that was just planted.  Just about every time I wear one of the faith wear Tee shirts I get a similar response. Praise God!"

Ione from Washington -- "I was wearing my favorite sweatshirt one Saturday, "In It, Not of It."  We had watched some Chinese friends' girls and then fixed a surprise lunch for their parents (5 girls made pizzas!).  Sitting across from each other at our kitchen table, their mom read my shirt out loud and asked what it meant.  I was able to briefly say that it was something Jesus talked about; I mentioned that it is something I try to do but have a hard time doing -- being in this world but not being of it.  She wore a thoughtful look and said, "that is deep."  My hope and prayer is that it is something she remembers and thinks about."

Ann in Italy -- "I recently ordered and recieved the Yes I AM A Jesus Freak shirt. I'm a soldier stationed in Italy. Most of my coworkers aren't Christians. I wore the shirt one Sunday to chapel and so many people complimented me on the shirt. They said the graphics really looked real. But the best part was when I was in the barracks and many of my coworkers would stop to read the shirt the fact that the front read Yes I AM A intrigued them to see what the back said. When they read the back a lot of them complemented me on it and it got a laugh out of them. It was a great witnessing tool because it started some good conversations. It's hard to be a Christian in such a secular job where you're trained to kill but with the many great shirts I've bought from you it makes it easier to voice my faith. Everything that I've ordered has gotten great compliments from people. But this particular shirt got the most by far. Thank you for selling such great Christian apparel."

Betty in New York -- "My Christian club, ACTOINS t shirt is the "this shirt is illegal" Anyways, we ordered them and people kept on asking about them, so we explained why the shirt was illegal in certain places in the world.  A lot of people have also asked to buy some, so we are re ordering.  Its great to be able to show your religion and express it in an easy way!!!"

A Vice Principal in Canada -- "I suppose there is "usual" story about how people have noticed the t-shirts I wear. I've never had a stranger respond to my other shirts. I need to add a note here. I teach science and so I own shirts with periodic tables, constellations, cartoons, formulas and of course, Einstein. I'm also a vice - principal and counselor. I teach in a Catholic school and my biggest excitement in the year are my high school religious retreats. Being out on a weekend with a bunch of teenagers playing games and chatting about life has allowed my faith to grow in amazing ways. Teenagers have so much energy and desire to find out about life. And when they have a chance to share their feelings, their worries and their prayers with an adult it is a very powerful sign of love and respect. It is definitely a time when I feel I'm walking with Christ. My love for t-shirts has grown to include many of the wonderful designs on wearyourfaith.com. It began with a gift from a sister-in-law. Every school year I add a couple more. The students definitely notice them. And so do strangers. Like I said before, I don't get comments about my other shirts. But I've had many occasions where a person stops me in a mall, or in a grocery store, or even on the street to say they noticed my Christian shirt. Many say they are glad to see that some one is willing to share their faith. Everyone asks where I got it. I don't mind telling them."

Chris in Canada --  "As a matter of fact, I did get one chance to witness by "wearing my faith". I always enjoy wearing Christian t-shirts, so no one who knows me is really surprised when I wear them. However, I bought the t-shirt that said "This T-shirt is illegal in 51 countries". And at the time I bought it, I was working with Operation Christmas Child, a division of Samaritan's Purse, an organization that is part of the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. And at the time, a volunteer in the workhouse who were filling the shoe boxes happened to see my t-shirt. And it actually made him think about faith itself. He knew I wouldn't get in trouble for wearing the t-shirt here in Canada, but he had wondered... how many Christians would go into missions and go into maybe one of these countries where it would be illegal, and speak about God willingly. Well of course I had to talk to him more about it. It seems he didn't know how deeply dedicated most Christians should be in their daily walk. The fact that God does so much for us, we should be more than willing to jump up and take a chance to share our faith, even when authorities and higher power themselves try to stop us. It was really encouraging to him, and now he attends bible studies a lot more, is trying to witness more, and is generally happier and stronger in his life with God. I may not be able to go on missions for now, but even walking through a mall with my faith on a shirt is a sure sign that I'm not ashamed to speak the name of Jesus Christ!"

Debbie in Kentucky -- "While I was at a doctor's appt, a woman waited until I was called back by the nurse and then asked my sister if I was a police officer.  I was wearing the "C.O.P.S." shirt.  My sister proudly told her what I always tell people who ask since it's obvious they didn't take the time to fully read the shirt "yes, she is, we both are, Officers for Jesus."  Some people say how wonderful and where can I obtain such a shirt and I always give them your online address!  Some people say that's nice and move pretty fast and others just move!  (I'm 55 and my sister is 69 and I find it funny that people think we could be real "cops" at our age!)"

Bridgette in Texas -- "Oh yes I have many stories to tell about why I wear my Jesus tee shirts. I have quite a few in fact that is why I love Wear your faith.com. I wear my crosses and my tee shirts mainly as a reminder to myself that Jesus is Lord of my life and each day I am to rely on Him. Also it can be a statement to others of His love. Your shirts are awesome and are certainly directed to others to receive a powerful message. In my heart, my soul, I KNOW what Jesus Christ has done in my life and I have received the awesome forgiveness  He gave upon that cross. As I wear my bracelets, pendants, tee shirts and even socks, it is a reminder of who I love and trust and strive to be like.  Thank you for asking."

Why Wear Your Faith?

I'm pretty passionate about Christian clothing. I must admit that I have not always felt this way but I've come to a place in my life where I am passionate about it and that's why we now have Faith Wear.

You see, I've seen how doors are opened when people wear Christian shirts, gospel bracelets, lapel pins and other items out there. People do read what you wear. People do watch what you do. People do ask questions. For some reason, I'm more conscious of that when wearing something with Scripture or a Message.

There is something called the Great Commission where Jesus calls every Christian to step out in faith and spread the Gospel of Jesus. This is faith in action! People who obey this command change their spiritual lives forever! It could be spreading the Gospel to a neighbor or moving to another country to reach the people there. It could be people in your community or people across the country. Wherever we go, every faithful Christian is compelled through obedience to share the Gospel. If you're a believer in Jesus Christ, where has He called you to go? Who has God put on your heart to share the gift of salvation? What small or large steps can you take, with the knowledge that Christ will be by your side, "to make disciples of all the nations"?

Maybe you're not comfortable or not sure where to start. Here's what I try to remember and share. If you were to die today, do you know where you'd spend eternity? Heaven and Hell are real. You will be in either Heaven or Hell. Romans 6:23 tells us that "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Going to church does not make you a Christian, your mom, dad, sister, brother, husband, or wife going to church does not make you a Christian. No amount of effort or good works can "earn" your way into heaven. Remember - it's a free gift from God.

Ephesians 2:8 tells us that "by God's grace you are saved through faith".

There's no way for us to earn our way into heaven. Romans 3:23 says "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"

You may be familiar with "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have eternal life" which is from John 3:16.

So if you’re not sure about where you'll spend eternity and you believe the Lord is calling you to Him, then I'd ask you to pray this simple prayer with me.

God, I come to you today. I admit that I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Jesus, come into my life. Change me, renew my heart and cleanse me. I want to serve you and bring you glory in all that I think, in all that I speak and in all that I do. Thank you Lord Jesus for your saving grace and for coming into my heart and life. Amen.

Now, get them involved in your church and help them grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
